All out of custody change of plea hearings set for June 25th will proceed as scheduled!!
ALL PRETRIAL HEARINGS IN JUNE WILL BE DONE BY VIDEO CONFERENCE VIA MICROSOFT TEAMS.
We are in the process of rescheduling ALL missed pretrial conferences beginning June 3, 2020. All private defense attorneys will have all of their Division 82 cases bundled together for ease of scheduling on you. The pretrials will be done with no more then 5 private attorneys at a time in time block of a new set every 30 minutes. This will cause of Pretrials to get rolled to the following Friday or even Monday the 8th. Notices are coming out now. A separate email inviting the attorney of record into the Microsoft Teams Room for the Hearing will be sent prior to the hearings. Should Counsel wish to attend in person, please email 82orange@ninthcircuit.org so we can plan accordingly.
ALL DEFENDANTS ARE EXCUSED FROM APPEARANCE AT PRETRIAL!!!
All Out of Custody pleas will be set beginning Thursday the 4th of June and occur on Tuesday and Thursdays in June. Each case will be assigned a 10 minute block of time for the plea to be taken, paperwork processed and fingerprints recorded. . Again, we will make every effort possible to bundle private attorney pleas back to back.
Public Defender cases and self represented litigant cases will occur in the afternoons on Wednesday and Friday.
Jury Trial Period will be July 6-23rd.
As many pending Motions that can be heard will be heard in June and will be reset by May 27th so parties can be subpoenaed.
Please remember these are the plans now, as we all have learned this is a fluid situation and this may all change again.

In accordance with the Florida Supreme Court Administrative Order, ALL jury trials have been cancelled and will be rescheduled once the Courts resume normal operations.
In an effort to ensure public safety and the welfare of all who participate in the administration of justice, all "non-essential" hearings will be done via video conferencing or by phone.
PRE-TRIAL CONFERENCES
All Pre-Trial Conferences will be done via a virtual pretrial form which can be found on this page below. Once the form is completed Counsel for Defendant shall email to 82orange@ninthcircuit.org for the Judge to review.
HEARINGS
All hearings will be coordinated to occur at or about the same time as previously scheduled SO LONG as each party is able to participate in a video conference or phone call.
To setup attend a hearing via Video Conferencing please email Isaac Wootson, Judicial Assistant to Judge DuBois at 82orange@ninthcircuit.org. Video conferencing is only available using the Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge Internet Browsers.
To attend a hearing via phone via CourtCall or by emailing and providing a local (area code 407) number or a toll free number that will allow both the State and Defense Counsel to call into.
PLEA AGREEMENTS
Defendant Out of Custody
The Court will accept a written plea in absentia by using the form below. The plea form must be emailed to 82orange@ninthcircuit.org with the terms of the negotiated plea agreement. The Assistant State Attorney must also be included on the email to the Court. All Defendants will be given 365 days to pay all fines and costs associated with the plea.
Defendant in Custody
In jail plea's can be taken Monday thru Friday morning at 8:30am, but must be coordinated with JA. To coordinate a "IN CUSTODY" plea conference we must receive the case number, Defendants last name, verified terms of negotiated plea, and whether the plea will result in the release of the Defendant from custody. Preference will be given to resolution of cases which will result in the release of the Defendant.
NO VALID DL and DWLS CHARGES
Upon the Defendant successfully obtaining a VALID Florida Drivers License, Counsel for the Defendant shall notify the Court and Assistant State Attorney that the Defendant has obtained a valid drivers license, provide the DL number to the Court and Assistant State Attorney, to confirm validity. Once confirmed valid, if the State has no objection the case will be dismissed and paperwork sent via the e-portal.
PRO-SE (Self Represented Litigants) can email a photo of their valid DL to 82orange@ninthcircuit.org and the Court will send to Assistant State Attorney for confirmation and position on dismissal.
